I have been a dedicated scholar of energy and emotion. My life’s journey tells the tales of my deep dives of study. They were all to help me learn, me.
I studied because I needed the medicine. I drank it in, over consumed, purged and came back into harmony for this time being. The koan of the ox describes this process perfectly.
At the age of 15 I was introduced to the Yoga world through attending the Yasodhara Ashram in Nelson BC and
Kundalini, bhakti, karma, and Hatha yoga were introduced to me as well as the goddess green Tara.
The seed was planted within me and began to sprout in my early 20s. I created an altar in my home and began to study Yoga from a book.
Devotion and prayer are part of my heritage as a South African Durban born woman; deep prayer, ceremony, and honoring the power of women is in my DNA.
At the age of 26 I became a mother to a beautiful baby girl. Three weeks after her birth, her father and I separated. This was a catalyst for my deepening of practice as my grief sadness and postpartum energy is needing to be managed for the safety and health of my daughter.
Green Tara mantra, meditation, art, and study were my medicine. As well as adventures with my baby out in nature, dancing whenever I could and saying 'yes' to dancing with the paradox of life.
